Halifax Harbour Tour's historic wooden boat converted to electric really makes this tour outstanding. It is quiet so you can hear the guide and peoples questions, and you can move around. Perfect location near the Maritime Museum. To top it off, the staff online and at the stand were so helpful.

This was the magical highlight of our trip to Halifax. The couple (I think they were Joyce and Dave?....sorry if we're wrong...) were lovely and complimented each other perfectly. The tour itself was very laid back but with constant intriguing information about the history of the area and information about everything we were seeing. At one point they harmonized a few verses of Barrett's Privateers along with some tidbits about Stan Roger's, then ended our tour with Joyce singing Farewell to Nova Scotia with her ukelele and Dave harmonizing. No one else could possibly bring these skills and knowledge in such a unique way, so we did appreciate how magical it was. Lastly, their boat was quiet (electric powered), cozy, all wooden with tapestried cushions and blankets for cuddling. I highly recommend this tour to make your trip to Halifax memorable.

Thank-you so much to our guide Gillian, and our captain Glenn. They were so knowledgeable! It was a calm day and very relaxing to be out on the water. We chatted the whole time with our guide and learnt all about Halifax and Dartmouth. Saw the naval base and where they took the rescued Titanic victims. The boat is lovely and quiet. Very comfortable. There are so many blankets and scarves on board if you get chilly but I was comfortable in just my sweater. I would highly recommend spending an hour on this tour!

this tour was lovely! the couple leading the tour were so kind and the small tour size was ideal. I particularly loved the little song they sang.

Gorgeous Boat, I love that it started life back home in London, UK! It’s now an electric boat and was so quiet! A great captain and great guide! A very relaxing sail along Halifax’s harbour front. This was such a wonderful tour. Relaxed, interesting stories and lots of questions to ask. The boat is beautiful, the Captain and guide were lovely and the tour gives a good overview of the city side of the harbour. It’s not a high octane thrill ride, if that’s what you’re looking for, but it was a great way to see the harbour on a beautiful afternoon.

We had a truly wonderful time on one of the Harbour tours yesterday afternoon, captain Collin and our tour guide (I believe it was Tiana) were so friendly, informative and lovely. It was a perfect way to spend an afternoon on our second day visiting Halifax. What a beautiful and memorable way to see the harbor and learn more about the local history. Highly, highly recommend!!

We stumbled upon this tour when we were walking along the water on Saturday evening. I spotted the small, but elegant looking boat and saw it was electric. The sign next to the ticket booth indicated they had tours starting shortly with open seats. Our tour guide (whose name I forgot) was simply wonderful. She was very knowledgeable but also left plenty of room for all of us to ask questions. We learned about the geography, the history, and some major events that took place in the harbour. It was just the right amount of info delivered in the right way. We had a smaller group and by the end it felt like traveling among friends. The electric motor made it super quiet and we didn't have to shout or be shouted at. Our captain navigated the water very well and we felt safe the entire time. I cannot rave enough about the tour and the staff. I would highly recommend this tour!

Loved how quiet and peaceful this tour was. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot on our boat tour while relaxing. We even saw seals! Would definitely come back again.

This was an incredible boat ride for one hour at a very reasonable price. The Tour Guide and the Boat Captain were very knowledgeable, and pointed out a lot of interesting sights as we toured the habor. When the Boat Captain relayed the history of the litle electric boat and its history it was simply fascinating with the length of time the boat had been used, and in three different formats. Chatted a bit with the captain (I'm very former U.S.Navy)and we swapped some stories; his were much better than mine and he was very friendly. And a good boat handler. Just a great experience

The cruise was fantastic! It was a hot afternoon so it was nice being out on the cool water. The boat is electric. It is very quiet, you can talk with the people you're with, or just take in the sounds of the harbour. Brianna was our tour guide. Instead of just shouting facts at us she made us feel like we were out on the water with a friend, letting our conversation cover what we were seeing, but also just getting along with our cruise mates. Our captain Carlo was an expert on the boat's history and participated in the friendly conversation that Brianna facilitated. It was a great experience. Can't recommend it highly enough!

Very nice tour of the harbour in a cute and quiet little electric boat. I was glad because it was quite the intimate tour with 6 other people, which I found preferable to big boats with a big crowd. The captain was funny and had a few good stories to tell. The guide told us about the history of the place. Both were very nice and welcoming. I highly recommend. Ideal for kids too.

It was a beautiful evening 😍 to take a cruise on Halifax Harbour. The sun that brightened our day was setting in the west and a 90% waxing moon was rising in the east. The sea was calm 😌. The Violet Mac cruised almost silently around the harbour as the passengers can enjoy the sites and have a guided tour. I would recommend this tour 😄!!

Loved it! Really super trip on a very quiet, relaxed boat. The small relaxed & quiet trip is in sharp contrast to the noisy, busy & commercial Harbour Hopper & it suited us down to the ground. We loved every minute of it!

We were fortunate to have Leanne as our captain and Leah as our guide. Their friendly nature, sense of humour and knowledge of the area made this a spectacular part of our trip to Halifax. This was a great way to see Halifax! Small size group lets you feel as if it's almost a personal tour! It is an electric engine, so no shouting to be heard either! Our guide was Leah, she is very knowledgeable about the area having grown up here, but the best thing about her is her personality. She shared so many personal experiences and stories! It was more like spending time with a long-lost friend! We highly recommend this! Wish we took more pictures but we were having such a great time we forgot!

Me & my friends loved the relaxing Pride history tour and felt totally safe on it. The tour guide and history guru were wonderful as well. I will continue to bring friends on this sweet boat...that's also environmentally friendly 👍🏼👌🏼 I've been on this beautiful boat 3 times now, and I will continue to go in it for the rest of my life.

This was such a sweet place! We went out on the Violet Mac, guided by Tonisha. The boat really is as quiet as advertised. Both our guide and the captain were friendly and fun to talk to, and it was clear they enjoyed their jobs. We learned a lot and had a fantastic time!
