A very enjoyable experience. All the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Didn’t just blurt out facts and figures but took the time to talk to people in the group. Small group and electric boat added to the tour experience. Well done.

Great boat ride no engine noise as it is an electric boat. Small group hence it felt like a personal tour and Dog friendly got to bring my little dog ( Buggie ).

We stumbled upon this tour when we were walking along the water on Saturday evening. I spotted the small, but elegant looking boat and saw it was electric. The sign next to the ticket booth indicated they had tours starting shortly with open seats. Our tour guide (whose name I forgot) was simply wonderful. She was very knowledgeable but also left plenty of room for all of us to ask questions. We learned about the geography, the history, and some major events that took place in the harbour. It was just the right amount of info delivered in the right way. We had a smaller group and by the end it felt like traveling among friends. The electric motor made it super quiet and we didn't have to shout or be shouted at. Our captain navigated the water very well and we felt safe the entire time. I cannot rave enough about the tour and the staff. I would highly recommend this tour!

Loved how quiet and peaceful this tour was. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot on our boat tour while relaxing. We even saw seals! Would definitely come back again.

This was an incredible boat ride for one hour at a very reasonable price. The Tour Guide and the Boat Captain were very knowledgeable, and pointed out a lot of interesting sights as we toured the habor. When the Boat Captain relayed the history of the litle electric boat and its history it was simply fascinating with the length of time the boat had been used, and in three different formats. Chatted a bit with the captain (I'm very former U.S.Navy)and we swapped some stories; his were much better than mine and he was very friendly. And a good boat handler. Just a great experience

The cruise was fantastic! It was a hot afternoon so it was nice being out on the cool water. The boat is electric. It is very quiet, you can talk with the people you're with, or just take in the sounds of the harbour. Brianna was our tour guide. Instead of just shouting facts at us she made us feel like we were out on the water with a friend, letting our conversation cover what we were seeing, but also just getting along with our cruise mates. Our captain Carlo was an expert on the boat's history and participated in the friendly conversation that Brianna facilitated. It was a great experience. Can't recommend it highly enough!

Very nice tour of the harbour in a cute and quiet little electric boat. I was glad because it was quite the intimate tour with 6 other people, which I found preferable to big boats with a big crowd. The captain was funny and had a few good stories to tell. The guide told us about the history of the place. Both were very nice and welcoming. I highly recommend. Ideal for kids too.

It was a beautiful evening 😍 to take a cruise on Halifax Harbour. The sun that brightened our day was setting in the west and a 90% waxing moon was rising in the east. The sea was calm 😌. The Violet Mac cruised almost silently around the harbour as the passengers can enjoy the sites and have a guided tour. I would recommend this tour 😄!!

This was the perfect way to enjoy Halifax Harbor! The boat was a sweet, quiet, comfortable vessel. We loved that it was battery powered. And 1 hour was just right. Highly recommend!!

Loved it! Really super trip on a very quiet, relaxed boat. The small relaxed & quiet trip is in sharp contrast to the noisy, busy & commercial Harbour Hopper & it suited us down to the ground. We loved every minute of it!

My husband and I recently enjoyed a harbour tour and it was amazing. The small group size and quite boat create a lovely experience. We were fortunate to have Leanne as our captain and Leah as our guide. Their friendly nature, sense of humour and knowledge of the area made this a spectacular part of our trip to Halifax. This was a great way to see Halifax! Small size group lets you feel as if it's almost a personal tour! It is an electric engine, so no shouting to be heard either! Our guide was Leah, she is very knowledgeable about the area having grown up here, but the best thing about her is her personality. She shared so many personal experiences and stories! It was more like spending time with a long-lost friend! We highly recommend this! Wish we took more pictures but we were having such a great time we forgot!

Me & my friends loved the relaxing Pride history tour and felt totally safe on it. The tour guide and history guru were wonderful as well. I will continue to bring friends on this sweet boat...that's also environmentally friendly 👍🏼👌🏼 I've been on this beautiful boat 3 times now, and I will continue to go in it for the rest of my life.

This was such a sweet place! We went out on the Violet Mac, guided by Tonisha. The boat really is as quiet as advertised. Both our guide and the captain were friendly and fun to talk to, and it was clear they enjoyed their jobs. We learned a lot and had a fantastic time!

After an initial cancellation due to inclement weather in May, my family and I had a wonderful experience with Halifax Harbor tours in June of this year! Jen, our guide, and Carlos, our Captain, (I hope I got the names right) were spectacular in their roles - helpful, informative and above all, friendly! They were more than happy to help and accommodate any questions that we tourists had. Would definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking at exploring the harbor. And of course, the beautiful boat, modified to run electric, was powerful and noiseless.

We had a truly wonderful experience with Halifax Harbour Tours. It was a sunny, beautiful day—perfect for being out on the water. The boat ride was incredibly smooth, thanks to Leanne, our smiling and confident captain, who steered us gently through the harbour. One of the most unique and appreciated aspects of this tour is that it's the only electric boat tour in Halifax. No noisy motor meant we could truly enjoy the peace of the harbour and have a quiet, one-on-one style conversation with our guide. It created a much more intimate and relaxed experience than typical boat tours. Speaking of guides—Clara was phenomenal. Incredibly knowledgeable about the city, the history of the harbour and ships, the surrounding geography, and even the architecture we passed. She’s a natural speaker and teacher—engaging, warm, and so easy to follow. She absolutely loves questions and created such a welcoming space that even those of us who normally hold back felt totally at ease jumping in. If you’re visiting Halifax (or even if you live here), this tour is a must. Peaceful, educational, and genuinely delightful from start to finish.

There were only 5 of us on board plus our two crew members - Kara, our tour guide, and Marco, our captain. The crew members were warm, friendly, and knowledgeable and shared interesting stories and information about the harbor and the area. A great value and a memorable experience - highly recommend!
